Expert Discovery conducted a practical training for HoReCa
On January 25, 2016 Expert Discovery with assistance of Federation of Restaurateurs & Hoteliers of Russia (FRIO) conducted a practical training for restaurants.
Expert Discovery with assistance of Federation of Restaurateurs & Hoteliers of Russia (FRIO) conducted a practical training for owners and top-managers of restaurants. The training “Optimism is a lack of information”, or advanced game strategy in prevention of corporate fraud” was hosted by restaurant “Amsterdam” in Gostiniy Dvor, Moscow
The agenda was as follows:- HOW does fraud occur in the restaurants?
- WHAT is specifics of criminal law regulation of fraud?
- HOW might a corporate fraud scheme be detected/ investigated (based on sample cases)
- WHAT are efficient fraud mitigation/ prevention measures?
Another topic highlighted in the training was HACCP principles, which have become obligatory since February 15th, 2015 for food products manufacturers. This topic was co-presented by our colleague Elena A. Lezhina, PhD, Head of Department of Russian Research Institute for Certification JSC (VNIIS).
In addition, the training attendees had an opportunity to participate in a quest game - an interactive investigation of the proposed fraud scheme. Within the game, a few scenarios were suggested. Such an approach demonstrated what results could be reached applying special forensic instruments.
In the end, the attendees discussed with Expert Discovery team specific issues, which they are facing in their restaurants. Due to time limitation of this event, a variety of questions remained open. It proves high importance of such a problematic area as corporate fraud.
